"Photographers feel guilty that all they do for a living is press a button." - Andy Warhol

Alaska

Alaska is the state I was raised (reared?) in.  The 49th state, The Last Frontier.  These mottos imply a fresh, untainted space, an edge, waiting to be populated and exploited.  I have an affinity to the people and places of this corner of the North American plate, as reflected in my photographs.

Human Condition

A vast sea of near emptiness.  A small ball of stone.  A thin mossy layer of green stuff spread over its surface.  Small, voracious vermin are consuming this green layer, leaving a pall of smoke in the thin blue atmosphere.  These are the humans.  And I'm amongst them.  So I observe them.  And fix the light reflecting off of them, forming the images you see here.  Bon Voyage.

Lone Lost Thing

Humans are a 'social' animal.  We like the presence of others of our kind.  We like to rub shoulders.  We like to compete.  We like to touch and talk and drink and sing and eat together.  But so many of us are lone lost things.
